Renal Diagnostics, Inc.
real-time patient monitoring for the ICU
Prototype Builder
We are working towards our vision of real-time patient monitoring in an ICU setting, with a particular emphasis on detecting kidney failure earlier than is currently possible using laboratory tests. Our goal is to give clinicians new tools to treat patients, decrease complications of kidney failure, and prevent lengthy hospital stays for patients.
We are seeking a prototype development engineer/scientist, experienced in raman spectroscopy and/or fluidics, to build a prototype device that can be tested in a hospital ICU. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who would be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment on a part-time basis with more equity than cash compensation. The position would include investigating and evaluating our existing technology, working with suppliers to source components to incorporate into the device, conducting feasibility studies of components and maintaining documentation of the process.
Preferred Experience/Education
* Experience in raman spectroscopy and/or fluidics.
* B.S., Masters or above in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
* 2 years or more of medical device design and build.
* Familiarity with FDA medical device regulations.
* Flexibility, persistence, resourcefulness and a drive to succeed.
* Knowledge and interest in renal function.

About the Company:
Renal Diagnostics is an early stage medical device company, located in NYC, whose goal is to develop medical equipment for real-time patient monitoring in the ICU, focusing initially on diagnostics for kidney failure. We are the first company that is using raman spectroscopy in a critical care setting, rather than standard laboratory-based tests that must be administered by technicians.
